I hate ads like this. Why is the solution to taking care of curly hair straightening it in all of these ridiculous ads? Some people are so close minded. I do take offense to this ad, because it's saying curly hair isn't desirable, but once your hair is relaxed or straightened it's the sexiest thing ever.K.M.B.A.

So far I haven't seen any results with the products I'm using. The majority of them are barely passing the okay line. I'm so disappointed, the only product that I absolutely love is the CON shampoo with the yellow cap, it leaves my hair soft and it's easy to detangle with. This weekend I may or may not go to the states, so depending if I go i'm going to try to hit up Sally's Beauty Store, since the Canadian dollar is $1:10, and if do so I will be throwing away the Jamaican Island oil, the lustrasilk tea tree deep conditioner, and the Olive Oil Growth Stimulator from Africa's best, oh yeah and that silly herbal essences conditioner (since I've been using it, I've lost so many strands of hair tsk tsk). Anyways today I tried to use EVOO with the herbal essences conditioner and it failed horribly, I ended up with two cloudy knots at the back of my hair. I seriously hate experimenting with products, but I guess that's the only way to find what suits your hair best eh.

I'm thinking of purchasing Giovanni Direct Leave-In, most naturals on fotki love it. The ingredients are as followed;Purified Water with Rosemary Oil, Nettle Oil, Thyme Oil, Birch Leaf Oil, Chamomile, Clary, Lavender, Coltsfoot Leaf, Yarrow Oil, Mallow, Horsetail Oil, Soybean Protein, Cetyl Alcohol, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Trace Minerals, Citric Acid (Corn), Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, Grapefruit Seed (Citrus Derived). (Certified Organic). I don't know what any of them are, except that rosemary is a scalp stimulant(and even or that I may be wrong), but what I do know is that most of the ingredients are au naturaule, and natural is always good for your hair.

The Story Of Saartjie (Litte Sarah) Baartman
"...Baartman was made to parade naked along a "stage two feet high, along which she was led by her keeper and exhibited like a wild beast, being obliged to walk, stand or sit as he ordered". People paid one shilling to gawk at her, where she was depicted as a wild animal in a cage, dancing for her keeper. For several years, working-class Londoners crowded in to shout vulgarities at the protruding buttocks and large vulva of the unfortunate woman. "

I don't know who this model is. I saw her picture in the fall edition of mahogany magazine, and I went to search for her photo. I found it on www.ebonyfashionfair.com, but she was left nameless her image title was just called "model". Let's get to the point here, her hair. She has the nicest head of loose curls I have seen in my whole life. The jet black color she has adds to the brilliance of her hair, and her complexion. I too have, let's cross that out I once had a rich jet black colour, which I obtained with Revlon ColorSilk. I believe I bought it at Target or Kohls(aren't they all the same) for 3.99 when I went to the states. Hopefully my hair get's this thick and healthy by January 31st 2008. This model is one of the first I have seen where the hairstylist did not straighten her hair to achieve the "it" look, but instead they loosened her curls and moisturized it to make her hair bigger. I just love it. I hate when model or makeover hairstylist straighten Black peoples hair to make in more manageable for themselves instead of embracing it an adding character. I was watching Oprah last week and she had an episode 100 hair cuts in 48 hours. She had around 4 black women on the show, and the stylist relaxed every head of the black women. One lady had a relaxer but she had like 2 inches of new growth and they permed it right out. Another girl I think her hair was straightened because it looked thicker than the after picture, when they were done giving her a hair cut her hair look thin, limp, fried, and dry. The before was so much better. Why don't hairstylist try to embrace African American hair instead making it blend in. Notice almost every hair makeover the person hair is always straight, straight and layered or feathered? Talk about boring.

This is my true inspiration, and my natural hair goal. Most people want waist length, but I want something manageable and something that I can just flop up in a ponytail with no strain, that's why I'm aiming for mid back length unstretched natural hair. So far my hair journey has been going great. My hair is softer, and shinier. When I wash my hair with water or condition it only one or two strands come off. I love taking care of my hair these days. Right now I'm not looking for any growth, I'm just looking for my hair to get thicker and shinier, then in about four or six months, a few inches of growth. Hopefully in two years an a half I get to my desired goal. Oh yeah I'm also excited for my grandmother to come back from St.Lucia, I'm going to be getting a big bottle of pure St.Lucian castor oil ($50 dollars Canadian, imagine that).
